The Journey

Our Founder - Kris

The vision I have for this community is to grow it into something magical. I always dreamt of having a farm sanctuary with all sorts of rescue farm animals, that they the animals can call home. This dream of mine takes money. By starting this community and website I hope to be able to raise enough money to obtain my own farm sanctuary which will be called Vegan & Love Co after this community!

Here is my story on how I became Vegan:

It all started with the passion my mother has for animals. She never forced me to eat a certain way but, she did educate me on the harm that animals go through.

At the age of 13, my mother shared, "Animals Make Us Human" by Temple Grandin with me. A book that really impacted my outlook. This book dug into the equality of animals and the passion that animals have for humans. I decided to go vegetarian after reading it.

Surrounded by sports and living in a small town it was not easy. I ended up going on a cottage trip for which I packed my veggie hamburgers happy with my transition. However, the so called "real" men bullied me into thinking what I was doing was not logical and if I wanted to go anywhere in sports, I needed to eat meat... I went back home and found myself back at square one.

Boy am I ever thankful I grew older to do my own research and educate myself. At the age of 19, I went pescatarian. I started practising yoga and meditation to combat depression as I heard this was a form of natural healing. This was a big turning point in my life.

Years passed and I was not able to connect all of 7 the chakras, my crown chakra, third eye, and sacral chakra were throbbing. There had to be a type of natural medicine out there to help combat a clean mind. I did not want to turn to medication.

At the age of 23, I decided to read a few books about the origin of meditation and I came full circle! Learning that monks, where meditation started, are all vegetarian and will not consume flesh of meat changed my life. Putting this together I came to understand that eating clean will translate into having a clean mind. My body is a temple and brain health is the absolute most vital part of your health. I decided to go plant-based and within 2 weeks everything cleared up. Depression was gone, energy levels increased and the best part of all my passion for life was at an all time high! It was no longer just for health, but for the animals and the planet.

I can talk for days about my experience - If anybody has any questions or would like any help in their journey please shoot me an email or contact me via any social media platform -
